Football on Trent began 4–5 years ago with a simple goal: to play regular, competitive football while staying fit and enjoying the game. What started with just two people looking for consistent weekly football quickly grew into something much bigger.

In the early days, matches weren’t always easy to organise. To keep football regular, we opened the door to anyone who wanted to play - regardless of background or level. Casual players, semi-professionals, local league footballers, and even players featured on well-known YouTube football channels all became part of the journey. The team grew through word of mouth, social media, and football apps, forming strong and competitive squads built on passion and inclusivity.

Around two years ago, an injury led to a new chapter: recording matches. What started as simple recordings soon evolved into a growing content presence across social media. Long-form YouTube videos developed into engaging short-form content, helping Football on Trent grow its audience year on year through matchday moments, challenges, interviews, and behind-the-scenes football content.

On the pitch, the team continued to progress. We competed in a 7-a-side league, earning promotion and reaching the top division. More recently, with the support of the Staffordshire FA, Football on Trent entered an official 11-a-side league, backed by sponsors and partners who believe in what we’re building.

Today, based in Stoke-on-Trent, we compete across the local area with a minimum of 2–3 games per week across both 7-a-side and 11-a-side football. One of our greatest strengths is our diversity - bringing together players from Asian, Black, and White backgrounds, across all levels of experience.

At our core, Football on Trent is about the love of the game. Everything else - growth, content, leagues, and recognition is a bonus. We’re here to play football the right way, together.
